After a lot of talk, it’s going to happen. We’re going to change some of the faces on our paper currency, starting with putting Harriet Tubman on the front of the $20 bill in place of President Andrew Jackson. More to follow, I’m sure.
I oppose this, but not for the reason(s) some will rush to judge.
Andrew Jackson deserves one final “honor”. Andrew Jackson was a special kind of repugnant genocidal maniac, especially regarding Native Americans. In short, he wanted to eliminate them. As such, Andrew Jackson should be honored by being replaced with a Native American. That would be a poetic justice!
Note: I have no issue against Tubman. I feel this is a particularly special honor that should be reserved for Jackson. Put Tubman on another bill. Too bad it’s too late and the decision has been made.
